SALT LAKE CITY — Utah is set to host four-star offensive lineman Tommy Tofi for an official visit Thursday.
Tofi, a 6-foot-6, 320-pound offensive lineman from Archbishop Riordan High in San Francisco, California, is ranked as the No. 6 interior offensive lineman in the country, the No. 14 recruit in California, and the No. 95 overall recruit in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports.
His connections to Utah extend beyond the relationships he's already built with the coaching staff, as his cousin, Kaolo Taaga, transferred to Utah from USC in December.
"I have always had a great relationship with Lolo. That's my brother and (I've) always loved him," Tofi said. "Back when we were at Riordan, we'd always work out and work on fundamentals of playing the tackle position. Not only that, he'd always look out for me and give me tough talks about football and life is huge."
The opportunity to reunite with Taaga is a factor for Tofi when evaluating Utah, but it isn't a determining factor. Tofi's top five schools include Utah, Cal, Oregon, Tennessee and Miami — all at an even playing field.
But reuniting with his cousin would mean a great deal to his family. Tofi is named after Taaga's father, and Tofi has always looked up to Taaga, especially when he went off to college.
"To be in the position I'm at is crazy," Tofi said. "I'll be forever grateful and blessed for this opportunity."
Tofi has also built a strong relationship with offensive line coach Jim Harding. Between his size and play style, Harding sees lots of potential within Tofi. According to Tofi, Harding sees him as a potential Day 1 starter on Utah's offensive line.
"I just got off the phone with him about how I could be a huge difference maker after possibly two of his tackles enter the NFL, and I could potentially be a Day 1 starter at the University of Utah," Tofi said.
Tofi's official visit to Utah will begin on Thursday.
As he will with each of his five official visits, he plans to go into Thursday's visit with an open mind, along with excitement on what the program has to offer.
"I'm looking forward to what the schools have for me and my future, and I'm very excited to what they have to offer," Tofi said.
After Tofi's visit to Utah, he will take visits to Cal, Oregon, Tennessee and Miami.
