A MAN living in Bradford has agreed to be sent to Slovakia to face an alleged drug trafficking charge.
Jan Demeter, 37, of Ashton Avenue appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday for a hearing about him being extradited from the UK.
Slovakia issued a warrant for Demeter to be arrested and sent to the country in relation to an alleged offence of drug trafficking, according to court records.
The records show he consented to extradition in custody on Monday.
There was another hearing at the same court two days later where an application to extend the time for Demeter's removal was granted.
Court records said: "The time for removal of the person is extended by 10 days from 30/04/2025."
Demeter was banned from driving for three months at Westminster Magistrates' Court on the same day as the extradition hearing after he was caught behind the wheel of a beige Skoda Fabia Hatchback without insurance, according to court records.
This was in Airedale Road, near Peel Park on January 24 this year.
He was ordered by the court to pay £168 in total, which included a £120 fine and a surcharge of £48 to fund victim services.
